WARRANTIES
Wallius Hitsauskoneet Oy (hereinafter "Wallius Hitsauskoneet") supplies welding machines and equipment to both consumer and business customers for welding applications. Wallius Hitsauskoneet offers the most comprehensive free warranty program on the market for HAKAS products. By purchasing a HAKAS product, you get access to the best quality and top-level customer support. Wallius Welding Machinery continuously monitors the quality of its products and extensively tests finished products prior to delivery.
Wallius Welding Machinery warrants the following and undertakes to repair defects and faults in the welding equipment which can be proven and, at the time of the warranty period, may have been caused by manufacturing or material defects. The warranty for HAKAS products is valid for both consumer and business customers.
GUARANTEE PERIOD
Wallius Welding Machines provides a 36/60 month warranty on new HAKAS welding machines delivered under the conditions described in this warranty certificate. All other new products and/or otherwise are warranted for 12 months, except that spare parts purchased separately are warranted for six (6) months. For used welding machines, the warranty period will always be stated separately and agreed on a case-by-case basis. The warranty period starts from the date of the receipt or invoice issued or sent to the end user by Wallius Welding Machinery or the Wallius Welding Machinery distributor. The original invoice or receipt for the purchase is proof of the warranty period and must be presented as proof of the warranty.
36/60 months guarantee
The 36/60 month guarantee must be registered within 30 days of the date of the paid invoice or receipt on the HAKAS extranet system at www.hakas.fi. By registering, the end user authorises Wallius Welding Machinery to use and store the information provided. After registration, the user will receive a confirmation of the warranty registration to his e-mail. In the event of failure to register, or if the requested mandatory information is not provided or is incomplete, the 36/60 month warranty described in these terms and conditions will not take effect.
EXTENSION OF GUARANTEE
Defects and faults that Wallius Welding Machinery has determined to be covered by the warranty will be repaired, or defective parts replaced, or the product replaced with a new product, or Wallius Welding Machinery may, at its option, refund the purchase price of the defective product in exchange for the defective product. Wallius Welding Machinery will decide whether to repair the unit or to replace the part or the entire unit. The replaced part or equipment will become the property of Wallius Welding Machinery after the replacement.
Wallius Welding machine warranty obligations include only spare parts and labour costs. The warranty does not cover any other losses or expenses. Repairs covered by the warranty must be carried out at a Wallius Welding Machinery location or by an authorised service centre as instructed by Wallius Welding Machinery. By acting otherwise than as described above, without or contrary to the instructions of Wallius Welding Machinery, Wallius Welding Machinery reserves the right not to accept the work as covered by the warranty.
The 60-month warranty applies only to PLUSMIG XXXX series welding machines with switch-mode transformer and is limited to the following components of these welding machines: transformer, choke and rectifier.
LIMITATIONS OF THE GUARANTEE
Any welding torches, intermediate cables, gas hoses and other accessories and consumables that may be supplied with the welding machine are classified as consumables and excluded from this warranty.
The warranty does not cover damage caused by improper or careless use, overloading, negligent care or natural wear and tear, failure to follow the instructions for use, abnormal environmental and operating conditions, power failures or lack of service and maintenance.
The warranty does not cover welding equipment that has been repaired by anyone other than Wallius Welding Machinery or a Wallius Welding Machinery authorised service centre.
Any overtime, travel and freight costs incurred for warranty repairs are not covered under the warranty.
The warranty period expires if the welding machine is sold or leased to a third party.
Repairs made during the warranty period do not extend or renew the warranty period.
The guarantee does not cover consequential damage.
APPLICATION OF THE GUARANTEE
Warranty claims should be sent directly to Wallius Welding Machinery, a Wallius Welding Machinery authorised service centre or dealer. The warranty claim must be accompanied by the serial number of the equipment and a description describing the warranty claim. In addition, the claim must be accompanied by the original invoice or receipt showing the date of purchase and the serial number of the equipment or, in the case of a warranty claim under point 2, confirmation that the warranty has been registered. The welding machine must be assembled and all parts of the welding machine must be included when it is delivered for warranty repair.
Wallius Welding Machinery will exclude all claims not relating to the right to have defects and faults remedied under these terms and conditions.
LEGISLATION AND DISAGREEMENTS
The interpretation of these warranty conditions and any disputes arising from them will be governed by Finnish law, without regard to any inconsistencies in legal principles. Any possible contractual disagreements shall be resolved primarily by negotiation. If the Customer and Wallius Welding Machinery are unable to resolve any dispute by negotiation, any dispute or claim arising out of or relating to the terms or conditions of this Warranty or any breach, termination or validity thereof shall be settled by arbitration in accordance with the rules of the Arbitration Board of the Central Chamber of Commerce. There shall be one (1) arbitrator, the arbitration shall take place in Helsinki, Finland and shall be conducted in Finnish.
